Buhari a power monger, don’t obey his unlawful orders - Atiku tells military commanders/
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar,  on Tuesday disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari is more of a power monger than a Democrat.

He said military commanders do not have to obey the president in carrying out orders that are inconsistent with the law of the land.

Atiku said Buhari just put on the garb of a Democrat so he could return to power, but remains a general.

Speaking at the 84th emergency meeting of the PDP national executive council, Atiku said Buhari was not involved in the struggle for democracy in Nigeria.

His words, “I want to direct this message to our military commanders and officers. You know that the military commanders and officers are not bound to execute orders that are manifestly unlawful.

“This is the law, this is the tradition in the military; so if you are a professional military officer and soldier and also a policeman, you are not bound to execute an order that is manifestly unlawful, no matter who issues that order.”

On Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari said he has ordered the military and the police to be ruthless, warning that anyone who snatches ballot box will pay with his life.

Atiku further alleged that APC is in possession of telephone-like devices that will slow down the card readers in the three regions where APC is not the strongest while fast-tracking it in the zones where the party is strong.

He stated that this means hordes of voters will be disenfranchised in the zones where APC is not favoured to win.

According to him,  "We have just discovered that the APC have hired many of their operatives and have taken them to China to be trained, and they have been so trained, and they are back, and they are equipped with devices that are meant to slow or fasten our card readers

"So, if you are in the South-South, South-East and North-Central, you are likely to get your card readers to be slowed by those APC operatives. We have seen the machines; we have interviewed some of those who have gone on this training, and we have passed that information to the campaign council to pass to you.

"But if you are from the North-West, North-East or South-West, the tendency is that they will use these machines to fast-track the readings of your card readers, so that many of their supporters can vote while disenfranchising the other three zones. I thought you should know that we have supplied the information to the campaign council, and you will even see the copy of the machine which each and everyone of those operatives is to hold.

“It is like a telephone but that is its job. I felt I should let you know, and you should be guided accordingly," the PDP presidential candidate said.
